On this forum, the recent post display doesn't work properly. normally there are at least 5 entries in there. Now I just have 2 entries in there.

That's because a LOT of people have been posting (okay, just me...) in boards you don't have access to see.

It's optimized to assume that, out of all the most recent topics, you can see *at least* 5 of the last 20 of them.  Apparently you can't see more than 2 out of those 20.

cool... I'd been wondering about that...

because I can't be bothered making a new topic... and in case its already been mentioned...
I seem to have a problem with the unread posts system in child forums...
eg:
I mark all as read...
then someone make a post in the  Jokes child board, I open it in a new window from the recent posts thing
then I reload the main page, and the little lights are still on ...
in fact they seem to remain on until I click "mark all as unread" again...
Its happened a few times now... and I've checked to make sure theres ONLY one unread post... and that I read it (a few page loads sometimes).
