Make only one board viewable to new members?

(1/1)

Pudders:
I have created a new membergroup called 'Read Rules First' and made all boards hidden until a new member reads the rules and posts in the say hello section.  When I click on a board to check it shows as viewable to all (incl guests) but not to Read Rules First membergroup.  However when I create a test account and login I have the read rules first membergroup status but can still view all boards - am I missing a step?

I have created hidden boards in the past for moderators and vip members etc but cannot work out how to hide them all except this one rules/say hello board.  The new membergroup is for people with 0 posts and once they post in the say hello thread they become 'New Members' which is for people with 1 or more posts.

I am sure this is something obvious but am tearing my hair out trying to sort it.  Any ideas?

If you go to each board's permissions, you can set that membergroup to not have access.

Hi, I had already done that but not to worry I worked it out and as suspected it was something silly - The boards were accessible to all except the new Read Rules Group but they were visible to all regular members.  I un-ticked regular members on each baord and voila it works now.

Thanks for replying tho - cheers

As long as it works, all's good!

Glad you figured it out, mate!
