Cannot find file which isn't there....

(1/1)

Tristan Perry:
Hi! I have uploaded all the files correctly to upgrade my forum to SMF. When I go to upgrade.php I get this error:

--- Quote ---The upgrader was unable to obtain write access to Settings_bak.php.
If you are using a linux or unix based server, please ensure that the file is chmod'd to 777.
If your server is running Windows, please ensure that the internet guest account has the proper permissions on it.
--- End quote ---

Although this file isn't in my upgrade folder which I downloaded......Any help as to where this file is?
   Thanks

Grudge:
You probably deleted it one day - not a problem at all. Take your current Settings.php file and COPY it to Settings_bak.php. Basically, Settings_bak.php is just a backup of your Settings file

Tristan Perry:
Thanks for replying. Now I've re-named but now I get:

--- Quote ---Warning: main(/home/yxdvfheq/public_html/test21/Settings.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/yxdvfheq/public_html/test21/upgrade.php on line 48

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/home/yxdvfheq/public_html/test21/Settings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/yxdvfheq/public_html/test21/upgrade.php on line 48

--- End quote ---

Any ideas?

Tristan Perry:
Never mind I think I have figured out what I did wrong now!

Grudge:
Guessing you renamed it instead of copying it :D
