How To Assign User-Specific Permission

(1/2) > >>

ManOfBliss:
Hello,

I want to give one particular member an additional permission above the rest of the regular members.

How do I do this?

Arantor:
There is no direct facility for this.

However, what permission in what context? There may be multiple ways to achieve it depending on *exactly* what you want to achieve.

The easiest way would be to create a group just for that user and edit the group to have the elevated permissions.

Arantor:
Not necessarily.

Depending on exactly what is desired, it may simply be a case of making someone a moderator for a given board, but without knowing what permissions need to be applied, it's impossible to suggest the best method.

ManOfBliss:
I simply want to enable one specific user the to add polls.

At the moment, I have the default setting so regular users cannot do that.
