You Must Enter A User Name (ERROR)

Hi there,

We woke up this morning and our form was down.  This is what we found out.

Settings.php had 0 bytes and no data.

We restored the Settings.php file with no problem.

But now when you go to login, it tells you that a username is required.

Thanks for any and all help.

Hi svphost,

Are you using a custom theme? If so does it work with the default?

If it doesn't work with the default theme I'd suggested you re-upload files from an install archive except for settings.php and install.php and it is likely some other files have been hacked or corrupted. You'll need to reinstall any mods.

We are using the default theme.  We have re-uploaded all of the site files and we still get this error.  We currently put up the maintenance page until we can figure this out.

Thanks,
Svphost

This is very strange as I would've expected it to fail all the time or never.

Can you confirm that the settings.php is correct? You can check with repair_settings.php (What is repair_settings.php?)
