How do I change all ".org" to ".com" extensions in the database?
(1/1)
Anarchology:
Here is what I need to do. I am moving my entire SMF forum to the website of the same name, but with a different site extension (i.e. mywebsite.com to mywebsite.org). I've been playing with the new site by uploading the entire forum code, and importing the database. With the database now added in its entirety, I get no errors. However, the new site mywebsite.org, has all of the database links still to mywebsite.com.
If I were to have a section named "Discussion", hovering over the link still directs to the previous site. What I desperately need is a means to change all records across every table in my database that mentions mywebsite.com to mywebsite.org. I'm assuming there should be a simple command in either phpMyAdmin or through SSH that will replace all mentions of the old extension to the new one. If this can be done easily, it would be a world of help to me.
My SMF database for the site is a hefty 300mb in size, so I'm not sure if that will affect which route I could take in achieving this. Also, there is no difference as to the location of any files or directories between the two. If I have an image stored at mywebsite.com/ads/lolface.jpg, it would be the same (mywebsite.org/ads/lolface.jpg). Really the only difference is the site extension.
If anyone could help me with this, I'd love you long time! If possible, can you please explain the commands or procedures in detail as I am a semi-novice.
Thanks in advance!
