Can't send pm message to members

Hello,
I want to send announce info of pm using newsletter inside cp, after I have chosen groups I want to send  the next page takes time to load and when it loads the box for members email will be empty.
Please what is the solution to this? I'm using 1.16 version of smf. Our forum has over 260, 000 members we want to send message to.

The only practical solution is to upgrade and use SMF 2.0's mail queue feature.
