Customizing SMF > Forks Discussion

How can I acquire 2RC2 from its owner?

AngelinaBelle:
Mercy me!
That's one request for topic threading, then. :)

Kindred:
There are no "hoops"

SMF 2.0 is the first (and so far only) release made under the BSD license. This version forms the basis for any forks (at least until the next version is released, still under the BSD license)

SMF2 RC versions, SMF 1.1.x versions and SMF 1.x versions are NOT forkable, per the original SMF license (which was not changed)

Clara Listensprechen:
3 different people with one answer, which isn't an answer to the question I asked.

I asked as to how to acquire rights to it.

Illori:
you can not acquire rights to it as the license does not allow you to do so.

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen:
Well, the NPO could in theory give rights to it - but I doubt that would ever happen - and I seriously wonder why someone would want that particular versions rights to begin with.

You can download it from the archive I believe, but as mentioned, Final was the first one under the new license.
