making of a moderator

I have a user who is taking an active interest in my SMF forum and so I want to make her a moderator. Not a global Moderator, but moderator of her own board within the forum.

I haven't set up the board for her yet. Must I do that first, before I make her a moderator? I do have a membergroup called "Moderator", with 0 members. But, when I go the edit her profile to boost her to Moderator, that is not one of the available options.

What am I missing here?

To set a moderator of a board you go to that boards settings and add her to the list of moderators for that board. It's all done from the board settings not the profile.
