Can SMF Default Theme - Curve (2.0) be edited and other newbie question..

ademanuele:
I have installed SMF and am presently configuring, I have a few questions:

1) I like the default SMF Default Theme - Curve (2.0) theme and would like to edit, however, when I go to Modify Themes I can not edit the templates?

2) I assume the SMF copyright notice can not be removed from the page footer?

3) I want to be able to play about with the html so that e.g. include Google ads, centre my Site slogan etc. I assume that this is all done by editing the templates within "Modify Themes"?

4) Is it possible to include a html link in a news item and if so how?

I am slowly working my way through the manual so apologies if above are covered...

Thanks

Tony

Arantor:
1) You can't edit the defaults directly, you can however take a copy of the theme and then edit that.

2) You can remove it, however you will lose any support here if doing so.

3) Yes. Depending on exactly where you are wanting to put things depends on what file you want to edit.

4) Sure, use bbcode (the url bbcode)

Thanks. When you say take a copy of the theme and edit, is it as simple as duplicating the "default" folder in the Themes folder and renaming it?

ChalkCat:
It's easier than that - in Admin panel, go to Themes and Layout > Manage and Install, then at the bottom you should find the option "Create a copy of Default named:"  ;)

ademanuele:
OK, I created a copy of the default and renamed it, however, when I go to Modify Themes I still can not edit the templates?
