SMF Forum has now started to log people out when viewing a board.

About a week ago we had a random incident were for a hour or so whenever anyone viewed the first page of a board they were classed as logged out, but if they went to page two or to home they were classed as logged in. I believe that to have been a phpsession issue, two days ago the issue has started again this time thought it's not gone away.

I am using SMF 2.0.2

I am at a loss, and as my sys admin is going through a mental issue right now he's unavailable so I have to try and fix this myself. If you need other information let me know at once.

You can try one, or all, of the following:
1. Try to run repair_settings.php, http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php
2. Clear your forum's cache (Admin > Maintenance > Routine, at the bottom)
3. Give your cookie a new name, at Admin > Configuration > Server Settings

If those all do not help you in any way, please report back.

Still no dice,

tried all three suggestions and we're still at block one. Let me know if you need any information to look at server wise.

I just checked your mod list your provided, and I see three instances of AJAXChat integration, are two of those uninstalled or..?

Strangely enough no, they were all installed... and I have no idea why..

I removed them all and went to reinstall one as per normal but.. it's gone wrong.. Does anyone have information on how to revert the forum back to basic files without losing anything user made? As in their accounts and what's been posted by them?

The original issue was fixed it was to do with php session handling, but everyones IP and hostname is now the server's instead of their own as well as files and folders are not the right permissions type. And after this mess up with the chats.. I need to start from as much of a scratch as possible. Is this plausible?
