email not working

Has anyone else had problems with the emailing system in SMF 2.0?  When I "send a topic"  the email does not send.  I have checked the permissions multiple times.  No problem there.

any problems with registration/password emails?

bam25:
yes.  I tried to log in as a regular user as opposed to admin and realized I forgot my password for that account.  I have not yet received the email with a new password (30 minutes)

Orangine:
that may indicate that it's a hosting issue, does your host allow php mail() ?

bam25:
I take that back.  The password email went to my spam box.
