Moving the "Recent Posts"

A friend of mine runs a SMF and I suggested that he move the  'Recent Posts' to the top of the forums, rather than have them at the bottom.  How would he go about doing so?

Any information would be great.

The simplest way would be to modify the index template and add a link near the top to ?action=recent.
