Successful Forum?
DJ Omnimaga:
For the kind of community I was running (now ran by new admins since a year) I would say 100 posts a day average is successfull. Of course now it doesn't look as successful since two years ago it went in the high 300s for a while, but as long as it stays around 100 or above in average I feel it's fine, especially considering one year the most active site of that kind averaged at 30/day. It depends what kind of community you run, though. A 100-post/day gaming forum might require a lot of more work from you, because you're in direct competition with hundreds of other gaming forums that gets 10000 posts a day and a constant risk of losing members to those sites due to higher activity there (although some people prefer the opposite).

For me it's not about the numbers, but about the people.
If people find our site helpful then I'm happy and consider it successful.

Iv goto agree like i said if you get a good member cling onto them..
you can have 10.000 members that post nothing or you can have 10 that post lots and keep the site alive. in time more will see the friendly 10 peeps and want to join in.
