change forum url for joomla installation

(1/3) > >>

sozino:
Hi all! I want install the joomla's cms as homepage for my forum/site, so i suppose i must change my default forum url from example.com to example.com/forum in order to manage the homepage (obviously I will first have to backup my db from mysql panel).
Do i have to use the repair settings and change the url in the Admin control panel? it's sufficient?

thanks in advance.

**edit** the version is the SMF 2.0.2

Kindred:
yes, using repair_settings should fix the settings after you move the forum files.

There may be some things which you have to manually check and correct (custom theme directories often seem to be missed by repair_settings0

move the files? did i have to create a subfolder in my root?
i use the default theme with some basic customization, so hope i'll not  have problems about it.

Kindred:
well, if you started with the files in your root directory and moved them to a sub-directory called /forum, then yes... you have moved the files. :)
