Sub membergroups
vasgod:
I had a idea!,
If we can make some sub membergroups.
It will be nice and usefull.
I give you a example;
Teamspeak (Main group)
Member
Moderator
Admin
Server Admin
second example;
Warserver
Manager
War admin
War Moderator
Second idea;
Teams page;
Just like the management page, but with other information and more options.
Like: add, Remove, edit team.
Make teamleader etc etc etc.
and maybe a place for put a teamlogo on the page.
3th idea & last!;
Teams Profile:
If you can add teams on your website maybe make a differenty cine of profile page for only the teams.
With the members, teamleader, maybe the last results of the matches.
What game and console use this team.
A challenge option will be nicen, so can visitors challenge the team they want!.
with options like: What game, what console, date and time, Cup/League, What Map and the format 5v5 or 10v10 etc.
I hope you can understand what i mean.
this examples are based on my idea cause i have a own clan, and i'm thinking for much membergroups and options for our site.
But i can't script very good only a litlle bit HTML and PHP but it's not enough.
So if you need more information or you will make these scripts, let me know please.
I will pay some money for maker of the scipts
emanuele:
Hello vasgod,
to develop a bit the proposal: how would a sub-membergroup be different from a membergroup?
Kindred:
I think he's referring to something like membergroup categories... Which, in the end, really doesn't make alot of sense, IMO.
Unlike boards, there is not real need to categorize membergroups.
If you have to, then create them like this:
Teamspeak - Member
Teamspeak - Moderator
Teamspeak - Admin
Teamspeak - Server Admin
Warserver - Manager
Warserver - War admin
Warserver - War Moderator
For teams page...
there are already several mods that do this:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=348
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2722
you can do the third item with ANY of the mods which allow page creation. The enhanced about page (second mod linked above) and an portal mod come to mind.
MrPhil:
Perhaps the intent is to be able to add someone to (or delete from), say, "Warserver - Manager", and they are automatically also added to/deleted from "Warserver"? A hierarchical membership, in other words, where major groups inherit their members from lower level groups?
Kindred:
blech...
1- that is a poor model
2- I believe that would pretty much require recoding the entire membergroup structure.
3- I can only see a few forum concepts that would use it...
