Text Area Problem
purrdeta:
Hi guys!
The text area for my forum doesn't seem to act normal in Chrome or IE but works fine in FF. What it is doing is growing to a width of 4025 pixels which isn't really conducive to much if you are writing a long post. It seems to be related to more than just the theme as it is cross theme and was the same when I installed the source again. Any ideas on what I might look for?
Thanks!
EDIT: The administration center is all wrong in chrome and IE as well. As seen in the screenshots.
EDIT2: Upon further testing, when I try to change to the default theme, Chrome and IE act like there is no CSS while Firefox does just fine. I usually consider myself to be a reasonable troubleshooter but I am fairly at a loss. Any help would be super duper appreciated.
K@:
Can you check that everything looks, as it should, when you use the SMF default theme, purrdeta?
If it does, it'll be a theme problem and you'd get better help in the theme's support topic.
Was that theme actually designed for SMF v2.0.2?
purrdeta:
It does NOT look as it should in the default theme in IE or Chrome but does look fine in Firefox. It acts as if there is no CSS (SS attached). In Firefox it seems all is well.
The theme was designed for v2.0.2 as far as I know, or at least was marked as such in the theme db.
I'll be happy to actually ask in their support topic, but it just seems to me that this is definitely something bigger.
EDIT: I thought I should mention that I have verified that the paths and such are correct for the other themes and that they all seem to be there with the appropriate files.
Kindred:
clear all cookies. Clear all caches (server, browser, etc)
purrdeta:
I have done so. All of the above problems still exist. I emptied the cache on the server with the maintenance panel and then cleared cache and the like "from the beginning of time" on chrome. It is still somewhat curious to me that Firefox seems completely unaffected by these issues :/
