Sorry it didn't work for you (like I said it was just guesswork)

I use xampp for running my localhost SMF stuff, which didn't have any issues.

Ok I got it working. You got me thinking about running as Admin in windows and all.
So I uninstalled Vertrigo, and then reinstalled it run under Admin. Reinstalled SMF. And now all files are writable.


Thanks for the help Shambles. If I have any more problems I will give that XAmp a try... WAmp was a flop for me.
