How many hours per day or week to manage a forum ?

It depends on how or what you want to do with your forum. Do you want a lot of people to converse and if they will. It also depends on the spammers. I was spending hours every day deleting them suckers.
I am in the processing of redoing everything and believe me you do not want to know how many hours I am on here fixing my mess ups.

Have you tried plug-ins like like stop spam and bad behavior?

If you use Bad behaviour then there is no need to use stop forum spam as it is part of bad behaviour.

Um I cant tell you right now what I had in it. But couldn't spam in the boards anymore and just started spamming their profiles. Seriously who is gonna read that anyway? I was using 1.0 versions and had whatever I could install to keep them out. Like cockroaches.. they kept breeding.
