Disabling the Forum part of SMF
ryansway21:
Hello Simple Machine Forums. I am currently starting a site and I am very use to using SMF as it's a very easy and simple to use system.
With lots of mods and more. I don't really need the forum part of SMF. As my site won't be really no gaming community or that. I was wondering if there is a plugin or some way to make it so the forum part of SMF is deactived and no one can see it or that.
Is there a way to do this if not could someone make a plugin to do it. Thank you.
Arantor:
If you disable the forum part of SMF, what is left, exactly?
I did write a facility to disable the forum part of SMF when using the helpdesk but then you're *replacing* the forum with something.
In any case it's a surprising amount of code - and if not done properly can cause a LOT of problems. Without knowing the various mods you've installed there is absolute no chance of doing it.

We you could simply make all boards inaccessible to members. Presumably having a staff board would be handy anyway.
Still not sure why you would want to do this though.

Would that work and not show the forum as a page guests. As I going to make it so people can't register.
I'm doing it because were a Business not a community. I am starting a training program with some people like combat and stuff. So were not so much looking to have a forum but I like SMF as it's easy to use.
Antechinus:
It would show a blank board index. IOW, header and footer but with no boards in between.
