Upgrading a broken SMF forum

(1/3) > >>

I've been asked to fix a forum that was broken by someone that scarpered.  ::)

The forum was using ver.1.1.11 but was text only(!) with all images broken and Times New Roman.

The data all seems to be there in the db tables.

I transferred SMF ver 2.0.2 upgrade to the root folder and successfully ran the upgrade tool.

Unfortunately it still looks like this:  :o
www dot liveexportshame dot com/news2/

Can anyone diagnose what causes this? I thought that changing themes might work but it seems a lot more serious!

Any assistance would be wonderful.

CapadY:

This is a theme problem and/or a path problem.

The firts thing to do I think is running Repair_Settings.

After that call the site with www dot liveexportshame dot com/news2/index.php&theme=1

Herewith the forum is started with the default theme.

SMF2 cant't work with SMF1.x themes. So the next thing is select the default theme, at least for your own account.

Now You'll have to remove all non-default themes via theme-management.

After that you can search for another suitable theme, install it and after than select it for yourself and your members.

agcornell:
That sounds like some awesome options! Thank you! I will try that now and report back.

Sincere gratitude! :D

I've deleted all themes through theme management and ftp.
I've re-uploaded only the Core and default themes and changed the permissions so that they can execute.
Unfortunately it looks the same.

"site address /news2/index.php&theme=1" says it cannot be found

Have you checked the chmod settings on your themes folders ? Just an idea ?
