Cookie Domain Name?

I was having trouble integrating a gallery into SMF.  They said that my cookie domain names are different.  Can someone tell me where I can check this, or is that recommendation how SMF does it?

Basically, you've got your board installed at http://www.northeastatvers.com/board and the gallery at http://northeastatvers.com/gallery, so they won't work because as far as cookies are concerned, "www.northeastatvers.com" is different than "northeastatvers.com". Make sure that you've got the www in both URLs.

I see.  So where do I check the SMF installation?  Is that in the settings file?  What is the best way to go about changing it?  And finally, is their recomendation the best?  (.northeastatvers.com for example)

So I found it thanks to some help.  Problem is that if I change the board URL to ".northeastatvers.com", the front page loads once, and then stops working.

I have a similar problem, with coppermine. On coppermine boards they told me :

It needs to be .ribelli.info

my board url is hxxp:www.forum.ribelli.info [nonactive].
If someone could explain how to do this...
