LogIn/Out session, view page restrictions outside of forum - Help?

I'm using my forum in a sub folder and building additional pages outside of that, and am wanting to use the log in from the forum to have a site wide session for members.
What I'm trying to do, is have the forum restricted to members only and cannot be viewed by guests, with the front index outside of the forum folder able to be viewed by guests, with the logged in member to be able to view additional information on that front index page.
Now, when logged in, everything is working fine, and the front index page can be viewed, but, when I log out, the front page url is the correct page, but the log in form is displayed, and is, somewhat, skewed.

I need help with a site wide session using the forum database, where my forum remains restricted to members only, and unrestricted front page content can be viewed.

SSI.php and Sessions.php is loaded
