Custom profile fields

Hi there,

Recently installed a new SMF forum and added some additional profile fields.

In the Input Settings I have selected Radio Buttons and "Yes, and require entry", but I don't need a default setting, otherwise someone could skip this setting, leaving the wrong default selection.

Not sure if this should be considered as a bug, but when I modify the default selection to "" (nothing) in the database, it errors when no selection is made and that is exactly what I want. The registrant needs to make a selection, no default selection is accepted.

Is it possible to re-think this option?

Could be, as SMF seems to accept a 'hacked' DB entry. So there should be an option like "no default".
Let me explain it different, this field is required on registration, but since there is a default, no-one really has to touch this setting, causing lots of wrong entries. Let's just say that this is a male/female selection, if Male is the default and if a Female registrant ignores (or overlooks) this setting, she suddenly becomes a Male :)

Which is exactly what I was clarifying. If it works structurally when the DB is manually changed, the problem isn't a bug in the underlying logic (which still works as expected) but a problem in the UI where you created the custom field because it doesn't give you the option for no default.

Check, so it's more like a theme related bug?
