Transfering Forum data to a new one here

Hi there


My first post so I hope I've placed this in the right area as I must admit, all of this is new to me so I'm still finding my way.

I run a webforum over on PunBB with another Admin but recently we have found the options available to be rather limited in terms of what we would like the forum to do and function. Having used a forum built by SMF for another hobby I'm very keen to use SMF to build a new forum and discard the old.


So my question is this, is there a way to transfer all of the old threads and topics from our PunBB forum to a newly created SMF one? Or do we need to start 100% from scratch?

If anyone can help give me some information on this or help point me in the right direction as to where I can find out about it, I'd be very grateful.

Wonderful, thank you. I'll give it a full look over so I understand how it works and then have a go. I didn't think it would actually be as easy as that.  :o :D
