Unable to access forum due to page 500 internal server error for 3 days hosting servers and error logs have been checked no changes
have been made to account for error to occur please advise of solution. This has never occured before with this forum.
Colin:
What mods do you have installed? What was the last one you installed? Can we get a link to your site please.
MrPhil:
SMF 1.17? Do you mean SMF 1.1.7? If so, it's quite out of date and vulnerable to many hacks. You should upgrade to the current level, which is 1.1.16. If you meant SMF 1.0.17, that's still a bit out of date (current in that branch is 1.0.22).
Lots of things can cause a 500 error. Read my sig > FAQs > 500 (Internal Server) Errors. If you haven't done anything recently, you've either been hacked, or your host has made some sort of upgrade (PHP version) that broke some old code. Did they recently upgrade to PHP 5.3? Do you have phpflag or phpvalue entries in your .htaccess? They belong in the php.ini file.

currently have the following mods installed, ad management, bad behavior, email verification registration, the last mod installed was registration email verification a link to the forum below
.
--- Code: ---<a href="http://www.bmwfirst.com/forum/index.php">
--- End code ---
MrPhil:
How long ago was registration email verification installed? Did the trouble start soon after that mod was installed, or was it running along fine for a while (properly processing registrations) and then started having problems? The idea here is to determine whether it's plausible that this mod is causing your problems, or whether it's an innocent bystander.
