Check if email settings are correct

Is there a way for me to check if email settings are correct? Why isn't there such an option?

None of my new members has received an activation email in the last few days, plus in Admin - Members Awaiting Activation was always 0!

Who knows when would I have noticed it if one of my non-activated member didn't complain in an email today...

You can check your email settings through your administration panel at Admin > Server Settings.

I meant something like a test, to see if those settings work. Btw, what exactly did you mean in Server Settings? I know for the Admin - Mail panel, where I can enter settings, but not test them (like testing FTP settings, for example).

Btw, I have finally fixed the mail error, thanks to this thread:

(Since I've switched to Google Apps recently, I never suspected I should put ssl://smtp.gmail.com instead of just smtp.google.com :D)

And I have also fixed the always-zero-avaiting-activation error thanks to Deprecated's fix.

But still it would be nice to have such a feature :).
