I'm getting this error on my conversion:

"Unable to find the settings for phpBB2. Please double check the path and try again."

I was assuming that the "path" is the web address of the forum I'm trying to convert into simplemachines?

Existing forum address here:

I really do appreciate any help you could provide.

Best,

I think I figured out my problem.....

My forums are in two separate databases....  The new simplemachine's forum (the new one) is hosted at Godaddy, and the old one forum that I'm trying to convert everything from is hosted offsite (at serifwebresources)....  Hmmmm.... thoughts?

Only bad ones...

Do a search, here, for Godaddy. :(

They cause a LOT of problems, I'm afraid.

Might be worth you transferring everything to the new site, then try the conversion, though.

The database will have to be on the same host. Most hosts block anyone from being able to access their database servers from outside their network.

Well, I ended up having to transfer everything by hand, and boy are my hands tired!

I'm glad I started investigating a long term solution for my forum earlier, as there were only 100 forum members, and about 75 threads.....

Best,
