Make Additional Membergroup to show color?

Well, there's two things why it isn't done that way.

Firstly, performance. It's much faster not to look up the additional groups of all users (e.g. for thread display) if you can avoid it, and secondly, how would it know what group to fall back on if there are multiple additional groups? Better then, to do nothing.

If you want to make a person look different, give them a different user group - it doesn't have to change their permissions.

I'm still not really understanding why the need to change user names without changing their groups in the process...
