Post Times Disappearing?

(1/3) > >>

FrizzleFried:
This is gunna be fun to track down.  I now have MULTIPLE users (3 to be exact) complaining of the same thing.  They claim that if the SUBJECT LINE is too long on a post that it causes the date to disappear?   What is strange is that I have tested with FF, Chrome, IE8 both Admin and Regular user accounts and I can NOT reproduce this issue.  They've posted screenshots with the date missing.

Huh?

ApplianceJunk:
Have a link to a example in your forum?

FrizzleFried:
Private site unfortunately.  Here is a screenshot.  That same post looks FINE to me on my computer and my wifes computer... he says he's using Firefox 13.0.1.... which is what I am on ... but it looks fine for me?

First attachment is my users screen capture...

2nd attachment is mine... both using Firefox 13.0.1.

Arantor:
The first screenshot shows the title wrapping to a second line (presumably because you have a wider screen) and that's pushing the time and date further down inside the container (which contains the subject and the time/date amongst other things), and more specifically that container is set to 'overflow: hidden' which means 'hide anything outside the visible area of this container'.

Fixing it is hard without seeing the exact code in use on your site, though.

FrizzleFried:
UPDATE: It has to do with screen width.  The same user who sent me that screen capture with the date missing... did that at 1280 x 1024... when he upped it to 1600 x 1200 the date appeared.  It seems that with a smaller width screen it's causing the date to disappear?   Suggestions?

(attached image is from same user... but at 1600 wide)
