Here's what some nations pay their athletes, if they get a gold at the Olympics.
K@:
Singapore - $800,000 (£515,000)
Kazakhstan - $250,000 (£160,000)
Kyrgyzstan - $200,000 (£130,000)
Uzbekistan - $150,000 (£95,000)
Russia - $135,000 (£90,000)
Tajikistan - $63,000 (£40,000)
US - $25,000 (£16,000)
Australia - $20,000 (£13,000) plus face on a stamp
UK - Face on a postage stamp. :)
Arantor:
Eh, when did they change that then?
The rule used to be that you either had to be the Queen or deceased to get your face on a UK stamp. (I know this because there was a stamp of the band Queen, and it was taken from a 1984 show, where you could just see Roger Taylor in the background and it caused a lot of stink)
Yoshi:
Lol, ridiculous amounts of money at the top and...wait, are they going to take a picture of your face and put that on a postage stamp? D:
