Customizing SMF > Graphics and Templates

Add forum description next to link tree on board index

I'd like to add a description right next to the link tree but only on the forum index, so it looks something like this:

Forum - Welcome to forum, enjoy your stay!

Is this possible by just editing a theme template? I don't really want to start editing any of the Sources/files
