What Makes a Good Project Manager?

The Craw:
Just curious. What do you guys look for in a good project manager? And on the flipside, in your experience, what makes a bad project manager? ;)

I've found myself in this role in a small, open source project only having a few team members, and I really want to do a good job. There seems to be a science in not being an obnoxious pain, while still giving people the urges they need to get things done.

Any advice for me is much appreciated. :D

I used to be a project manager, yonks ago.

Nothing to do with computer stuff, though.

Best tip:

LISTEN! Hear what people are telling you and make damned sure you understand what they're saying, even if that means asking waht may seem like silly questions.

Set goals, sure. But, make them realistic.

Thanks, K@. :)

K@:
I'm surprised that nobody else has joined-in, mate. :(

The Craw:
Yeah, me too. We'll give it some more time and see what happens, eh?
