Sliding image menu

Hey everyone, so a long long time ago, I was able to implement one of these on my SMF 1.0 forum using Tinyportal.

Using this tutorial.

I've refound the folder that contains mootools.js and imagemenu.js, but when I try to do the same thing on a 2.0.1 forum with a Simpleportal PHP block, I get a blank space. Any idea why?

Also looks like when I try to implement this, the css works if I put it in index.css, portal.css, or rtl.css, but any images I put don't show up and the sliding transition doesn't work.
