Lots of "error 8" errors in log

Hello all, I installed SMF on a new site, no upgrade, INSTALL.PHP ran flawless, no trouble there. The board seems to work ok, apart from weird errormessages every now and then. When I check the errorlog, I find lots and lots of entries with errormessages like these:

This logentry was added after I visited index.php?action=regcenter on my site. I get a lot of similar errors ("Undefined index")

Any suggestions what could be wrong here? Maybe I forgot to chmod some crucial files? (there's no documentation, so I couldn't tell...)

Thanks. I uploaded the files from the archive again and it seems to be working ok now.

No problem, just another attack of the "FTP clients don't like uploading everything you tell them to" issue.
