Table \'smf_sessions\' is marked as crashed : tried PHP repair

(1/1)

kith:
Table 'smf_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired came up today, possibly as a result of a main server crash or timeout?
It happened once my forum came back online, the main page was working but every link to post or admin etc.. brings this up. Now I can't even get into my main page.

http://www.clanvmk.com/clanvmk/forum/

I hunted around various posts and found the PHPmyadmin advice on repairing the dB
I get this
<databasename>.smf_sessions repair status OK
But it makes no difference to my forum which is still down at the time of writing.

Help, please.
Is this terminal :(

Well all of a sudden (I say that but it's some hours later) it's back.
I have sent a support ticket to our hosts asking if it's possible issues their end caused it because they are USA based and I am UK so I'll wait to hear back in hte morning.
Thanks for those who looked in.

You should take a full mysql dump just to be safe.  Most of the time this happens because the server hiccups or the /var partition gets full.  You can normally dump the contents of smf_sessions without affecting SMF.  People will just have to login again if they were already logged in.

Thanks popsikle.
I got word back from the server people saying they did a repair database from the control panel.
There appears to be two options. Repair database from within their control panel.
Or the way through PHPmyadmin which I followed following a search here.

If there's a next time I'll try it the server host way.
I have taken a backup in case.

Thanks again for your help.
