The sizes of sigs, here.

Let's be honest, here. Some of our member's sigs are a bit on the "OMG!! THAT'S FAR TOO BIG!" size.

We've been having a discussion about what the maximum size should be.

We also thought that it'd be a good idea to find-out what YOU think.

The general opinion seems to be that my sig is about as big as they should be and anything bigger is, well, a bit silly.

Plus, of course, not all of us have the luxury of having fast internet connections. In some places, people are still stuck with dial-up, after all.

On such slow connections, loading graphics can be really tiresome.

Of course, members can disable sigs, in their profiles. They can even create their own style-sheet, so that certain sigs don't show. (I've done that to hide Nibogo's sig, for myself (Well, actually, Illori did that, for me)).

So, let's have a mature and sensible debate, about this, shall we?

What sort of size sig. do YOU think is acceptable, here?

TWO?!?!? Blimey, you're being very liberal, today! ;)

I think that restricting images along the lines that TrickyRicky suggested above seems sensible.  Over at Kindred's forum it's 600x150 if memory serves me correctly, and that works pretty well for members there.

As for text, I find that less of a problem, providing members aren't using ridiculously large font sizes, so if it's assumed that font size is standard, I don't see any need to be be excessively harsh with this.
