How to make it so people can't PM you {only a few you allow}?

I need to remove my PM button from people, including on PM reports, and on our staff list, and display an error if they do try and PM me anyway. And create an allow list that would let a select few I added still reach me with PMs. Would this be codeable relatively easily? The last one, the PM-allowing group, is optional and wouldn't need to be done if it is too difficult.

SMF can rrestrict that to  buddies only, but it'll only give an  error once they click send, which might not work on your install (trying to keep the upgrade nazis at bay here).

I have mine set to that, but everyone can still send me PMs.

Also, more importantly, I still show up on the list of staff that can be sent PM reports privately and I can't turn off my PMs until I'm off that list.

What can I do? Thanks to anyone who can help.

That's because you're an admin, and admins don't get the luxury of ignoring people, sadly.

I'm at the point where I have no choice. My inbox has taken over my life and I can't live like this anymore. Something needs to give, and it's going to be my PMs before it's my life. Open member contact by private message is something I must delegate to my staff from now on with rare exception.
