User Registration -- "Full Name field must be a valid email address"?!?
Cedartrees4:
Hi! One of our new registrants found this problem while trying to register for our forum (SMF 2.0.2)
They had filled in the registration form (username, email, passwordx2, full name, and verification). Upon clicking the "Register" button they got this message:
--- Quote ---" The following errors were detected in your registration. Please correct them to continue:
The "Full Name" field must be a valid email address.
--- End quote ---
They had not entered a email address in the full name fiend, they had entered their name (i.e.g John Smith). After changing this by entering their email address in the full name field, the program accepted their registration.
Why would this be happening? How do I fix it?
I'm wondering how many potential registrants we have lost due to this problem occurring and maybe them just "giving up" rather than entering their email address in the "wrong box." :(
Thanks :)

Can you post a link to your site so I can check this?
Are you using the default "Curve" theme or a modified one? If so the registration page may have been badly coded.
SMF 2 default registration works fine so unless something has been recoded on your site, it may even be you users browser giving a problem - long shot.
Shambles:
Does the standard issued version have a "Full Name" field as part of registration? Mine doesn't. Sounds like validation of a customised form going wrong

As you can see, we're using a custom theme called "Soft Cartoon.

Heading over to the registration form at http://rawmilkconsumer.ca/forum/index.php?action=register [nofollow] -- it has the full name. :) As this isn't on yours, maybe it is a customization?
