Bridge (I think) to My RPG Game Site... ?

(1/1)

ZephyrCain:
Good Day All...I am totally new to SMF and this site, so I apologize if I am in the wrong place to post this.

Situation: I have a newly set up SMF forums to work as the backbone (game management) system for my RPG / SIM. The RPG is build on Anodyne Production's Nova SIM Management product. It uses .php, mySQL, etc.

Problem: Nova integrates a user's login with their character's bios so I've been told creating a single login is next to impossible. Nova's logins are e-mail + password. I would like to ask, however, if anyone thinks it can be done AFTER we have a user registered and approved at the game side of things and added to the forums?

I was looking at this - http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_to_use_the_SMF_user_system_outside_of_SMF#Extras  and thought it might be possible, but I am a Coding Village Idiot...so absolutely no idea.

Any ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?

PS: I don't care if they have to register separately since they wouldn't be allowed access to the forums without an approved in-play character. Would love a single sign-on after the fact.

Thanks and Regards,

ZCain

Using the api, you can sync it all together... Registration, login, accounts, etc.
