SMF 1.1.16 to 2.0.2 inquiry
(1/1)
cebu:
Hi. I just want to know if this would be possible.
I currently have an SMF 1.1.16 forum with around 60 mods installed. I wanted to upgrade it to SMF 2.0.2 but what im afraid of is it might create some problem upgrading because of all those mods installed. So what i have in mind is i want to do a fresh install of SMF 2.0.2 then just have the members, posts, avatars and attachment transferred to SMF 2.0.2 Is it possible? If it is, may i know the process? I dont want to mess up my forum. Thank you guys.

Hey there!
What you'd want to do is, uninstall all modifications and themes, despite any errors encountered while trying to uninstall theme, then run the SMF Large Upgrade script to SMF 2.0.2, once you have the upgrade complete, you can work on installing the modifications (assuming they're compatible with 2.0x also).

Same here...
Dear Experts is it Possible?
If I install a fresh SMF 2.0.2 with required mods (that have I already using for SMF 1.1.16) on a separate directory and / or on a differant domain e.g. and then replace / upload my old database file of SMF 1.1.16; and connect with this fresh SMF 2.0.2 using repair_settings.php tool
It is impossible for me to uninstall lot of Mods (because I've installed and configure few mods manually)
Please tell me any easy solutions with best of your knowledge and experience
