Need to have .html format pages! (Just like many Vbulletin forums, and you know it is a SEO)

Is this the

--- Quote ---Search engine friendly URLs
Apache/Lighttpd only!
--- End quote ---
option in the featuresettings page?

If yes I have enabled that but its not working, and its still like this : index.php?topic=XXXXX.msgXXXXXXXXXX

plz advise

You will need to use some kind of seo mod. I do not think that you can do that with the out of box Smf.

Arantor:
Firstly, that option is built into SMF. It only works on Apache/Lighttpd servers only as indicated.

It will change the URLs from index.php?topic=xyz.0 to index.php/topic,xyz.0.html

Search engines needed this help nearly 10 years ago when SMF first launched but these days search engines do not need this help, it confers precisely zero SEO benefit at this stage (and actually can hurt things by breaking certain mods)

cicka:
Ah, I was not ware of that.

PersianDeveloper:
thanks Arantor

my SMF1 forum was producing this .html formats about 2-3 years ago (I'm still on the same host)
but now its not showing in .html

do you think I need to go to the Cpanel thingy and change something there to enable this?
