force a mebergroup to recieve notification of a specific board

(1/2) > >>

Dear All,

I've already read some topic about my problem, but I cannot find the solution the same.

I want force a membergroup to receive notifications (by e-mail) for any topic is posted in a specific board (a board where only them can access) without change the permission of other membergroups and board.

Is there an easy way to do that or I have to change the php code? Anyone has had the same problem?

I hope I've been clear.

Thanks

Arantor:
There's no easy way to do it. It is not provided in SMF for good reason: it means people get a lot of email and for busy forums it's really a pain to have it rather than opting in for notifications.

(Wait until you get 50+ emails a day for notifications on a busy forum. Assuming your host doesn't get labelled a spam sender, of course.)

alenemoh:
You are rigth.

In fact I want force notification only for a small group of selected member involved in the decisional tasks.

If a discussion starts about an issue in this board, for example, all people of this membergroup must know that immediately and also any reply has to be notified.

That is my aim

Ale

Arantor:
Notifications in SMF, even if turned on, do not work in that fashion. They only notify about new topics in that board, or if someone has indicated to be notified about replies for a given topic, they only get notified of the first reply, and it won't notify them again until they log in - precisely to avoid sending way too many emails.

It'll take a modification to do it and one that way too many people don't want to write. (And there is very little, if any, chance it'll get added to SMF core, which is what this board is for)

Just out of curiosity did you consider the mod I suggested you?
