yaBB 1 Gold SP 1.31 --> SMF 1.0 Beta 5

What is the procedure to upgrade a yaBB 1 Gold SP 1.31 to SMF 1.0 Beta 5?  I know the board is rather old, so it could use an upgrade without losing all the posts.

Strange thing about the upgrade, it doesn't work for 1.3.1.  It handles 1.1 and 1.2 but not 1.3.  That's from reading the upgrade's description.  Does anyone know if the upgrade really works for 1.3.1 or not?
