Add-ons

  • Dragooon's slideshow add-on is also available, which as its name implies, adds a slideshow feature to your gallery. Click here [nofollow] for more details.
  • Nao's new Foxy! add-on adds 70KB worth of features to your gallery: RSS feeds for new items and comments (in items, albums, albums & children or the entire gallery), embedding of remotely hosted pictures (ImageShack, Photobucket, Picasa, etc.) with local thumbnail & previews created where needed, a SMG button to your post editor (where you can upload and embed items with a single click), user playlists (with permissions), Flash+Javascript playlist for albums & user playlists, and linked topics (which can add notifications, among other things, to your albums). Click here [nofollow] for more details.

Converters

Three converters are available for making your evaluation of SMG easier. You can run SMG along with another gallery, they will not conflict with each other.

Requirements
  • A working Coppermine (bridged with SMF), SMF Gallery Lite or SMF Gallery Pro installation to convert from.
  • A working fresh SMF Media Gallery installation (it should be fully functional) on the same forum. Will only work on SMF Media Gallery 1.5 and later versions.

How to convert
Download the desired file (mgconverter_*.php), and upload it to your forum's root where the SSI.php and index.php files are located.
Run it from your browser.
Follow the steps on screen, it should do the conversion by itself.

Note: this will wipe out preexisting SMF Media Gallery items, if there are any. However, your Coppermine or SMF Gallery will remain unaffected before and after the conversion.

mgconverter_cpg.php - Coppermine to SMF Media Gallery converter

What it converts
  • Items
  • Albums (user and general)
  • Comments

Note: this is only tested with CPG 1.4.x

mgconverter_sgl.php - SMF Gallery Lite to SMF Media Gallery converter
mgconverter_sgp.php - SMF Gallery Pro to SMF Media Gallery converter

What it converts
  • Items
  • Categories
  • Comments
  • Reports

Note: it is certified for use with SMF Gallery Lite 1.9 and the equivalent SMF Gallery Pro version, and theoretically should also convert later versions as well.

Everything seems to have installed fine. However, when I try to create a new album, i get the following error:

The database value you're trying to insert does not exist: width

Thanks in advance for your help.

EDIT: It seems I only get this error when trying to assign an icon to the album.

Great!   :D Is there a way to convert data from an existing SMF Gallery(Lite) database?

Bancherd, I don't think he has a way at the minute to convert any existing database data.

Looks very nice, excellent interface!

I am testing it with SMF2beta4public with the following mods:
PortaMx 0.92.0
The Rules 1.04
More Spiders 1.2
Email Validator 1.0
Auto Embedded Video 3.1.2

Found this error in the error-log when trying to see the stats.

Bancherd

PS.  The directory in which uploaded files are kept is NOT accessible by the public except through the program.

I cannot believe it is approved :P

The database value you're trying to insert does not exist: width
I think I fixed that issue long time back, can you see anything in error log?

@Bancherd I think I fixed that issue as well, I'll see.

Also I am thinking of making converters but ATM it is not possible.

Thank you guys for your comments :)

From all of us who rely on the knowledgeable community here at SMF for some great mods, our compliments! Very Nice!

I noticed when I installed it, I have 2 buttons now with Galllery on them.

I think it would be a good idea to remind us how to change the button label, to maybe MGallery or Media Gallery....

With 2 great Gallerys, it would give us the possibilities and possibly some more options to figure out some new ways to use both systems at the same time......

Again...my compliments!

Hi,

I want to test this Gallery, but when I try to install it in our test forum I get this error message:

Quote
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-smf' at line 2
Datei: /is/htdocs/.../.../.../Packages/temp/db_mgallery.php

What does it mean?

Anything in error log?
Does the actual item displays?
Do you have GD on your server?

I'll see if I can figure this one out.
