Is accelerator needed really
« on: October 12, 2012, 09:58:20 AM »
If you have SMF 2.0.2 install and running on a linux 64bit OS system using mysqli all in 64bit mode is it really needed to install an accelerator?

Highest load seen has on been CPU load 0.72 with 50 web servers running

Thanks in advance for any help

That depends on the size of your forum and how many users you have online at a given time.
Caching can most certainly give you improvements.

There seems to be about 3050 people on line most of the time.

On which timeframe?
I mean if you check the stats and you have it set to "the past 3 hours" and it says 3050, that's something different than 3050 in 15 minutes.
Is that incl. or excl. guests?

Either way, if it's a reasonable period of say 15 minutes and you list 3050 people online; caching sounds like something that most certainly speed things up :)
