Customizing SMF > Graphics and Templates

I'm going to design a new template... Wait or not?

I wondered if SMF was going to add any major template changes in future versions. Should I design a new template now based on SMF template or wait to a later version?

My guess is you will always have to do changes in your template files for new SMF releases. At least my own themes always needed changes in the past. Only then you have maybe not to change files if you do notihing but color changes in your own themes.

Acf:
I do not think that the template design engine will be changed that much. Well to could but still do not they will. And if any changed will be made i geuss they would be small. If you design now... you would have more time of tweaking it :)
