Israel to oust Yasser Arafat

If you've not heard about this story, I'l update you. The Israeli security Cabinet decided they wanted to expel Arafat. They wouldn't say how or when, and said they would do it on their own time. Fox News reports the Israeli Army has had a plan in place for quite some time now and has even had drills of it.

Anyways, what do you all think? I think the Palestinians are going to try and fight, and terrorist activity will be bumped up. Likewise, the Israeli military will crush them and oppress the Palestinian people.
If the US gets involved (and I don't think we will, at least any more than talking) I will be very unhappy.

Even if Arafat is removed I don't think it will stop anything. Soemone will step in and take his place. It's a vicious circle over there :(

As for the US getting involved, besides selling arms to Israel, America has stayed pretty far away as far as getting involved goes. And probably a good thing too :) (from a publicity point of view)
