Version of SMF: 2.0
Description:
I would like to see a reviews mod for SMF, similar to this one for e107.
Permissions:
Admin: Add/edit/remove categories/sub-categories (which can be optional)/reviews/places to review/images of places to review.
Users: Add/edit places to review and reviews.
Feature set:
Features should include the ability to specify a URL for a place when adding it for review, ability to set as many review criteria as needed, the ability to sort the reviews, and the average of all reviews should be shown when showing the reviews in a category.

Nothing apparently thus far. People seem to assume that stuff going into this board *will* be done, most never do, even the limited number that actually follow the rules.

I am thinking that vbgamer45's Articles mod could be used as a base for this mod.

You can probably use if for that just rename some of the language strings. I could add rating of articles if needed.

I personally wouldn't know what to change. It was just an idea, and besides, the articles themselves wouldn't need to be rated, but a uniform system of ratings (to allow comparisons) would have to be used.

Well, that proves it could be used as a basis for a reviews mod.

A mod like this that can be set "per board" would be nice too, and beside "new topic" button there's "new review/recommendation" mod, when members click on "new review" button, it will open a review post page with aeva embed photo form (to save web space), country, city, google map, rating stars, cons, pros, and everything else different from usual post page.

I would use this one for sure. I have several 'adult' themed sites this would work perfect on. I could donate to the development of this mod.

So then the review would become attached to a new topic. Would its entry form be based off a post window, except with the review fields where the subject box is? What about the additional options where attachments can be uploaded, topic locked/stickied Should they stay or go? And what happens when post moderation is enabled and the topic would otherwise be up for approval?

I am thinking into the integration possibilities which spawn the questions above. A quick and easy way to do this would be to use the hook for normal topic creation.

I think it doesnt matter if it's using the same options as normal topic (sticky, announcement, & such) but with addition of some 'different touch' to it like aeva embed photo form (to save bandwidth), country, city, google map, rating stars, pros & cons.
