Do SMF 1.0 Themes work with SMF 2.0?

Hi, newbie here, and I'd like to know if SMF 1.0 era themes will work with SMF 2.0 and above?

I was looking through the free themes section here and 2.0 seems to be lacking in themes, so I wanted to know if the 1.0 era themes would work fine with it.

No.
SMF1.1 themes will definitly not work with SMF2.0. They are completely different.

If you want to be safe I think the oldest themes that are usable withouth problems in SMF2.0 and further you need themes from SMF2 RC4 or newer.
